1. Install
the Firmware Live Update Tool under your windows. When the screen
appeared, click "Next". |
 |
2. Read
the license agreement and click "YES" button
if you agreed the license content. |
 |
3. Type
the "User Name" & "Company Name" then click "Next" button. |
 |
4. Click "Finish" button
to complete the Live
Update Setup process. |
 |
5.Click "LiveUpdate" icon
on Desktop to execute program. |
 |
6. Click "LiveUpdate"=>"Setting" to
set the configuration. |
 |
7. Please
select a upgrade frequency once a week ..etc. The LiveUpdate is
going to check the firmware automatically by the period time depend
on the setting. |
 |
8. Click
the "User Information" to
fill the form out, the Name and Email columns are necessary.
We do not send any email to the customer's email address for any advertisement. |
 |
9. Click "Check
updates" button to
look for the latest firmware version. |
 |
10. Click
the check box in front of model name then click "Update
selected device" button the new firmware will
be downloaded if the Latest version newer than Drive version. |
 |
11. During
firmware updating, please do not execute any application to avoid
flash failure happen. |
 |
12. The "Windows
Flash Program" has been activated, click "Upgrade" button to
flash the firmware. |
 |
13. Please
pay attention to read the "Warning massage" in advance and click "OK" button
after reading all the content. |
 |
14. The
drive is upgrading firmware. |
 |
15. Congratulation!
The f/w has been upgraded successfully by the “LiveUpdate” program. Click "Close" button
then reboot the system. The drive with new firmware is working now. |
Flash
Failure Recovery
If
your IDE drive doesn't be recognized by
Windows and BIOS due to firmware flash failure, recovery procedure would be needed.Please
download the correct firmware from the below :
DVDRW IDE1004
Firmware DOS Version V0151 CS=BCD1.zip
DVDRW IDE1008
Firmware DOS Version V0159 CS=4D95.zip.
DVDRW IDE1108
Firmware DOS Version VB030 CS=BE91.zip.
DVDRW IDE1016/1116 Firmware DOS Version VA07J CS=6B95.zip.
If you don't know which model you have, please
refer to the log file before download the firmware of DOS version
 .
Firmware Recovery
Steps under pure DOS mode :
1.Build a boot disk (floppy), you can download a dos 6.22 bootdis k : http://users.aol.com/bydesigns/bootdisk/dos622.exe ( make a bootdisk running the boot622.exe )
2.Unzip the firmware to hard disk.(when you have a ntfs partition download NTFSDOS : http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/ntfsdos.shtml (unzip the ntfsdos file to the bootdisk, if there is not enough space take a new one.)
3.Boot to DOS mode without IDE cable connected to drive.
4. Change to the directary where the firmware unzip to.(Ex. C :\FW)
5. Plug in IDE cable now.
6. If connect the drive to Secondary IDE Channel / Master, please type C:\FW> F
If connect the drive to Secondary IDE Channel / Slave, please type C:\FW> F 4
7.When it flashes to 100%, then finish and restart computer.
8.If
it's not the newest firmware please upgrade by LiveUpdate
again.
* Warning!
1.DOS flash utility program can't be used under DOS mode of Windows!
2. If your drive is an USB device, please return to dealer for the procedure.

1.Sometimes
device will be disabled after firmware flash.
Ans: Please delete the device then reboot the system, the device should works fine with new firmware. |
